why is the river brown
was it always like that
did someone poop there
why are there too many people
or maybe too many rules
will there be space for me when I grow up
why does the future feel dark
even in the daytime
did someone turn the sun off
why do birds need defending
who is chasing them
can they still find their homes
why do leaders lie
do they know they are lying
or do they really like money that much
don’t their wages suffice
